Today I’d like to introduce to you Mr. Phillip Karber. He worked as a counselor to Margaret Thatcher, NATO Secretary General Manfred Warren and the U.S. Department of Defense.
Now he is a military expert, Georgetown University professor and president of the Potomac Foundation.
Professor Karber has been occupied with Ukraine of late spending a lot of time in that country including the conflict zone in its eastern part. He also lobbies Kyiv’s interests in Washington concerning lethal arms supplies to the Ukrainian armed forces.
Karber during his visit to Ukraine
During his trip to Ukraine Mr. Karber had drafted a perfect slideshow about Russia’s “hybrid warfare” campaign in eastern Ukraine that was presented at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington.
Karber’s route in Ukraine, 2014-2015
By the way, Karber tried to restrict the distribution of his slideshow because “the Russians could make good propaganda mileage out of these slides”.
This’s his assistant’s letter:
And here’s the slideshow as it is: Russia’s Hybrid War Campaign: Implications for Ukraine and Beyond
Mr. Karber also visited the Aircraft Repair Base in Lviv estimating the Ukrainian Air Force strength on the request from General Phil Breedlove, NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander for Europe.
Professor reported that only 85 out of 200 Mig-29 were active, the other had not flown for 15 years.
General Breedlove sincerely thanked Karber for his work done and added this info would be very helpful.
Here’re some pictures taken during Karber’s visit to Lviv Aircraft Repair Base.
P.S. Look at him! Prof Karber is very good at repairing Ukrainian Mig-29 🙂
